Our society is now entering an era where internationalization minds and competitiveness are required with the change to an information society.
The trend of topics changes according to the times and changes in society, and today's topics are competitiveness, internationalization, and informatization. Especially, in universities, all of these topics have recently emerged as important topics for survival. Until now, the management of universities was not focused on survival but on the research of basic studies and the role of the society’s ivory tower. However, as society changes, universities have become concerned about its own survival.
Nevertheless, while the university’s survival is a matter of concern, it must fulfill its original mission, and in order to achieve this, it must be newly established at the level of the international community. In this context, our university exchanges information with excellent universities in each country, strengthening mutual cooperation, and also our education focuses on the improvement of constitutional quality to enhance international competitiveness. In other words, according to the changes in the international community, our university is improving its constitution in order to be one step ahead of other universities in terms of educational content, such as international credit exchanges and multi-degree systems between the United States, Japan, China and so on. We are striving to keep close cooperation with our exchange universities. Therefore, if students of our university draw their own academic dreams and set up their own plans for their future, they will not only be able to seize a golden opportunity for academic completion, but also be able to experience a variety of cultures through our exchange universities around the world. Unlike previous academic research and college life conducted by other domestic universities, our university is now building conditions and systems to cultivate the individuality of students through modern subjects opened by various cultures, thereby developing their abilities to adapt to the environment required by the times and society. Additionally, our university is preparing for the best education services and excellent lectures in a pleasant atmosphere with beautiful forests and blue seas for students from other universities to visit our campus for credit exchanges or seasonal semesters. In this vortex of change, universities need to build a Win-Win strategy to compete and cooperate with each other. These changes were something difficult to find in the previous university culture, being the result of our society's pursuit of competitiveness through internationalization and informatization. Newly established for these changes and survival strategies, the Office of International Affairs promises to provide the best services for Dong-eui members to conveniently use any matter related to internationalization as well as matters related to external cooperation, which is necessary for them to take charge in the world and be born as competent partners.
